Blog Flash 2012: Day 18

This is the eighteenth entry out of the thirty I'm attempting.  It is part of a series of thirty entries so I hope you'll read each daily post to find out what happens in the end.
Thank you for reading!
18. Wild At Heart

“Thank you, Mr Hurst.”
He glanced around before taking a step. His whole body half-drowned under the floral shade of the park trees she’d been walking under. “To what do I owe this humble apology, Miss Sheffield?”
She hesitated, unable to think of the correct phrasing to use. “You were kind enough to keep that ‘incident’ private from Miss Charleston, and hence, from the ton.”
A brow rose on his face. “Wouldn’t any gentleman?”
Perhaps, but no gentleman, even one wild at heart, would’ve kissed her like he had. As if she was all that mattered in this delusive world.
