Faerytaleish Pinterest Contest - Entry No.2

Dear readers,
My favourite fairy queen, Anna, is hosting her Fairytale contest here and I made the mistake of skimming through the Faerytaleish Album once more.
Result being, I found another image that spoke to me!
Here is my second entry.
I hope you enjoy!

The Angel Of Sin

The angel felt no air against her face, no spray of drizzle or sunlit warmth.  Sure enough the elements touched her, but the little joys induced no effect as harsh reflections could.
And they did all too much, chiseling truth in her hardened core.
With all her sensations eroded but this constant awareness, she looked below at her reserved stretch of scenery.
A parade had been held that day, welcoming the return of the heroes from the war with triumphant cheers. Now post-celebration, the street lay littered with paper, the shreds like dim stars trodden upon.
The knight, one of those beloved heroes honored today appeared through a twisted alleyway. He glanced around, both suspiciously and cautiously. He slid out eventually and with quiet footsteps neared a cloaked woman under the cathedral awning.
The angel caught no glimpse of her face. Without the ability to bend, her line of vision was sorely limited.
But she saw the secret in this clandestine meeting; the woman turned and her hair even this late at night proved a lustrous brown.
His wife’s was red.
The wife who, rocking a little babe in her arms, had boasted an incandescent smile and teary eyes when her husband’s bravery on the front had been applauded.
Worthless scum.
He grinned and his hand slid into her cloak, tugging her closer in shameless fervor.
Heads tilted, lips parted…
Oh, wish but she had a voice.
....and met in a kiss.
The angel thought back, remembering the brief moment of ecstasy that lived in the excitement of sin.
She’d warmed a good many beds but none had satisfied her wholly.
She’d craved a challenge, a delicious risk.
So, under moonlight, she'd kissed a dear sister’s betrothed.
Had it been worth this severe existence?
Below her, flesh turned to stone.
